How does such a headshot session work?
A perfect headshot should show you relaxed, authentic, confident and approachable.
A headshot session is not a typical photo session. First-class Headshots need time. Sometimes more and sometimes less. So it is not predictable how long the shooting will last. 2-3 hours can go by very quickly. The satisfaction of my customers is most important to me. It is much more important to me to deliver high-quality work than to work through as many people as possible on an hourly basis.
Quality over quantity
Time pressure is the enemy of creative work. Very few people are relaxed when a clock is running. And I like to work in a relaxed atmosphere. So the shooting is over when both of us are fully satisfied with the result. That's the basis for first-class headshots.
Pre-Session
Even before we start talking, you should first decide what you want to convey with your new portraits and where they should be used. Because then everything else depends on it.
For example, the style of your clothing. It conveys and emphasizes your position and your character. Therefore, choosing the right clothing is important, even if only a little of it is visible in the picture.
Have you ever thought about a style consultation or are you stylistically confident in terms of your external appearance, such as hairstyle, clothing or accessories? Especially in portraits, you can use small details to set accents and express your individuality, both in your professional and private clothing style.
Also the choice of lighting, which light we use, which background we choose to create the impression or look you want, which is best for your purpose, depends on it.
For a top notch headshot you need a lot more than just a great composition, perfect lighting or an optimal background. With my experience, it can be done in a few minutes. The part of the shot that takes the most time and is the most important element of a headshot, along with the other ingredients, is your facial expressions and gestures in the frame.
A headshot depends primarily on the emotions you communicate to the viewer through your facial expressions. I want to show you as authentic, confident, approachable and friendly. And above all, you should look really good.
Coaching
I assume that you are not standing in front of the camera every day for professional reasons (as an actor or model). Of course I also know that most people don't feel comfortable in front of a camera. Sometimes it is difficult to look relaxed. Don't worry!
I help you to act confident and relaxed in front of the camera during the whole session.
For a perfect headshot we need a balanced mixture of confidence and approachability in the expression. I guess you won't have so many ideas on how to create one of these emotions for yourself. Someone else will have to help you.
This is my job as a Headshot Photographer. So you don't have to worry about pose, expression, hair or other details.
Realisation
The aim of the session is to get some great shots and it's about the subconscious and the first impression people should get of you when they see your Headshot.
We get this perfect mix of confidence and openness in a relaxed and funny atmosphere when you allow yourself to get involved. Because a portrait, which is also what this Headshot is about, is not created in the camera. But on both sides of it.

Throughout the session we will pause again and again and have a look at the pictures we have taken. This will allow you to see what shots we have, what the progress is like and if there is something you want to change: we can do it right away.
At the end of the session we will take some more time, grab a cup of coffee, tea or whatever you like and review all the shots we have taken. From there, you'll pick your favorite shots to be professionally edited and retouched. If you want, I can also help you with the selection of the most appropriate pictures. It has been scientifically proven that the perception you have of yourself is not necessarily the same as that which others have of us. So it's good if you get a different opinion about your own appearance.
You decide which pictures you want to have in the end. That can be many, few or also only one.
How much is this gonna cost me?
The pricing of my Headshot Session is pretty simple. You don’t have to worry about time spent in my studio. No matter how long it takes, you always pay a flat rate. And for each image, edited and retouched, a fixed amount. The final price depends on how many pictures you select from the session.
You don’t have to worry about licenses and usage rights. You can use your Headshots without any restrictions.

If you want to be professionally prepared, a Make-Up Artist is at your disposal before the shooting. You will then have to add up to an hour more to the shoot, especially if you want to polish your hair. You can book the styling package for 70€.
We will review all images during and after the session so you can see our progress. We will mark the ones that stand out to us and review those at the end to make your selections.
The images you select are transferred to an online gallery in preview quality. You will receive an email with a link and access code to your private proofing gallery. You can also share the link with friends. They can also write their comments to the individual pictures or choose their favorites.
With one click you can then check your order again from the gallery and complete it. From the time you send your order, it takes max. 3 working days until the retouched pictures are available for download in the online gallery.
Headshots are mainly about the facial expression of the person depicted, so unimportant areas in the final image are hidden. Because I know that there are uses in which the head should be completely shown, your head is always complete in the original image. So if you need a different image cut, this is possible at any time.
You get your finished pictures in digital format JPEG, which are optimized in a moderate resolution for use on the Internet, e.g. as a profile picture for social media accounts or websites. If required, you can also get pictures in a high-resolution “print” version, which are optimized for printouts up to about 25×30 cm (at 300 DPI) or for use as pre-press.
